A facebook thing not on facebook

I love these types of getting-to-know-you questionnaires, but I’m really not a huge fan of Facebook, so I’m posting it here (sorry, Angela!).

***

1. What time did you get up this morning?

8:10am, then again around noon.

2. How do you like your steak?

Walking around a field eating grass, growing old.

3. What was the last film you saw at the cinema?

It was a kids’ movie. Not “Up,” the one that came out after that.

4. What is your favorite TV show?

Sorry, that’s a whole other post.  Too many.  But “West Wing” and a bunch of sitcoms would be up there at the top.

5. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

Right here in Brooklyn, but our house would be finished, the backyard would be bigger, and we would have a garage.

6. What did you have for breakfast?

Two small pancakes, no syrup.

7. What is your favorite cuisine?

Cheesy Italian.  Like me!

8. What foods do you dislike?

Meat, fish, poultry, tofu, and mushrooms.

9. Favorite Place to Eat?

Well, I need context to answer that.  Just had a great meal at an Olive Garden in Kansas City though.  There’s a diner a ten minute walk away that I love.  Perkins has the best grilled cheese.  And some of the best meals of my life have occurred in little Italian places in the Village I found by wandering.  And I have a serious Chipotle addiction.

10. Favorite dressing?

Bleu cheese.  Ranch is a close second, tied with Newman’s Own Olive Oil dressing.

11. What kind of vehicle do you drive?

2004 Saturn station wagon.

12. What are your favorite clothes?

Anything that fits, is clean, and makes me look good.

13. Where would you visit if you had the chance?

Anyplace with a five-star hotel.

14. Cup 1/2 empty or 1/2 full?

I hate those kinds of questions.

15. Where would you want to retire?

Maybe North Carolina?  I really haven’t given it much thought.

16. Favorite time of day?

Noon-ish, when I still have hours to go before picking the kids up and have not yet started to panic about how much more I have to get done.

17. Where were you born?

Buffalo.  I’ve heard all the jokes, do your worst.

18. What is your favorite sport to watch?

Sigh.  If the Sabres have made it far in the playoffs, I guess that would win.  But only by default.

19. Who do you think will NOT tag you back?

Well, since I’m not doing this on Facebook, I guess everybody! Stupid tagging.

20. Person you expect to tag you back first?

See #19

21. Who are you most curious about their responses to this?

Nobody, really.  The further I get into this particular one, the less interested I am in even my own answers.

22. Bird watcher?

Only if they fly directly into my line of sight.

23. Are you a morning person or a night person?

I seem to be more productive at night, so I guess night.  But if I ever got organized I would be in bed at 10pm and be a morning person.

24. Do you have any pets?

Yes.  Two cats and a bunny.  They’re all living at my mom’s and I am eternally grateful.

25. Any new and exciting news you’d like to share?

Hmm.  If there were I probably would have posted it on Selfish Mom already.

26. What did you want to be when you were little?

A secretary.  Then an astronaut after Shannen Doherty wanted to be one on that show with Wilfred Brimley.

27. What is your best childhood memory?

Going to the Yankee Doodle Room with my grandmother for club sandwiches with little plastic swords in them.

28. Are you a cat or dog person?

Done with pets.  But if I had to choose, cat.

29. Are you married?

Yes! In fact, today (Saturday) is my 11th wedding anniversary.

30. Always wear your seat belt?

Yes!  Anyone who doesn’t is just dumb.

31. Been in a car accident?

Yes.  But never my fault.  Seriously, sitting at a red light both times.

32. Any pet peeves?

People who talk in theaters, fundamentalist anythings.

33. Favorite Pizza Toppings?

Cheese.  Dipped in bleu cheese dressing.  Or white pizza with lots of garlic.

34. Favorite Flower?

None.  Getting flowers is nice but I don’t really care what kind.

35. Favorite ice cream?

Probably cookies and cream, but it depends on my mood.

36. Favorite fast food restaurant?

Probably a sub place.  But I have a deep and meaningful relationship with McDonald’s French fries.

37. How many times did you fail your driver’s test?

None.

38. From whom did you get your last email?

OMG, I have no idea.  Last time I checked I had over 300 in my inbox so I looked away quickly.

39. Which store would you choose to max out your credit card?

Whatever store carries everything I need to finally finish the kitchen.

40. Do anything spontaneous lately?

No.  I don’t like spontaneity.

41. Like your job?

Hmm.  That’s a difficult question at the moment.  I have half a dozen small jobs, and I like them all, but something has to go.  I just don’t know which one.

42. Broccoli?

What about it?  Who the hell wrote this thing?

43. What was your favorite vacation?

Disney World with my friend Jen about 17 years ago.  There’s nothing like taking in Disney with another Disney freak.

44. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?

The Ass.

45. What are you listening to right now?

Will & Grace.  It’s the one where Grace goes to AA to get free therapy and food.

46. What is your favorite color?

Green.

47. How many tattoos do you have?

None.

48. How many are you tagging for this quiz?

N/A.  Fuck Facebook.

49. What time did you finish this quiz?

1:32am Got distracted. 1:54 Decided I wanted to make the questions bold so that it would be easier to read. 1:59.

50. Coffee drinker?

God no.  Hate even the smell.

“It was a kids’ movie. Not “Up,” the one that came out after that.”

Have you been since we went to see “Away We Go”?

Ex-Buffalonians always grudgingly admit there’s anything to mock, whereas the die-hard lifer who’s still here is all, “What?! What?! You gotta problem with Buffalo? Hey, at least we don’t get hurricanes here!” :)

Happy anniversary. You had a lovely wedding, though I confess what I distinctly remember was that it was very hot, and that you had chosen the world’s wrinkliest fabric for your dress.

@Toni – It was Ice Age 3. I’m pretty sure I saw it after Away We Go, but I can’t swear to it – my memory sucks.

All true about the wedding. The dress was absolutely gorgeous, but a warning to all future brides, linen wrinkles if you look at it.

It was beastly hot, but at least the ceremony was short and the reception was indoors! :-)

@Jennifer – Thanks. Sometimes these lists are fun and insightful. Clearly I didn’t read this one before I started filling it out.
