Win tickets to The Big Apple Circus

Why living in NYC is awesome
If you’re not in the NYC area right now, well, I feel bad for you, because that means you don’t get to experience the wonderfulness that is The Big Apple Circus. We took the kids a couple of years ago, and it was a blast.
I love this circus for several reasons:
- It’s set up in a way that no seat is more than 50 feet from the action.
- They don’t use big scary animals like lions and tigers, so you don’t have to worry that your child might see someone get ripped to shreds during the show. They don’t have elephants either. When we went, they had a horse, a dog, a cat, and if I remember correctly, a bird (unless I’m hallucinating it, the bird was riding on the cat, which was riding on the dog). Their emphasis is much more on human talent.
- The few animals they do use are well cared for.
- I can take the subway to the show and don’t have to fight traffic and deal with parking.
- One of my friends is a musician in the show, and I just like saying that I know someone in the circus.
The Big Apple Circus will be putting up its big tent at Lincoln Center from October 22nd 2009 to January 18th 2010. You can buy tickets here.

My fave circus memory was last year when we danced in the ring for New Year’s Eve! We love the Big Apple Circus!
i tweeted for the first time a real tweet

we loved the energy of universoul circus in prospect park 2008 and would love to experience the big apple one
I’ve only been to the circus once in my life and I remember seeing the trapeeze lady and being in completely awwh of her. I was mesmorized by her balancing skills. I was 8 years old. I would love to take my boys so that they could have fun filled memories as well.
I remember enjoying the trapeze and was particularly excited about the tigers, when I was younger. However, I also developed a fear of clowns and would love an opportunity to face my fear as an adult. Please help me out by way of exposure therapy
My childhood circus memory is getting up really early and walking with the elephants when they arrived from the train at Penn Station. It must have been BB RB Circus, which I don’t support as an adult. I have pictures of me and my mom in an orange plaid jacket wearing a red clown nose.
I know I did go to the circus but it was so long ago that I don’t remember but I am sure my 4 year old will have a blast and we will be sure to take lots and lots of pictures so she doesn’t forget like me
most favorite memory… well, it came to me in a dream, rather vivid and spirited vision, I can recall. It took place under the bridge in NYC Finicial distric, near the tall archways. Elephants tramped by, jugglers tossed rings of spit-fire heat, my eyes were gorged by the exotice sights of color and majectic, mystical-like beings… Ahhh. No, I’ve never been fortunate enough to see a live and up close circus extrodinare! but in my mind these are fantasies which I hope it may one day live up to. That is, if I were to so kinldy be gifted a generous invitation by “someone” who just “happens” to be giving away a few pair. Just two will suffice
.
My favorite circus memory was going to see ringling brothers with my grandmother when I was a child!

It would mean the world and so much more to my family and I if we were granted this most amazing opportunity. I previously worked for Ringling Bros. circus over the summer. That, as well as my childhood memories of attending the circus have really helped shaped my life. I literally can’t walk down the street without being reminded of my amazing times spent at the Circus. Everything from animal crackers, to elephant statues, to songs with the word circus in them..I live, love, breathe, everything for the circus. The circus has a special place in our hearts, and really hits home whenever we get the chance to see it. My family has recently had a discussion about our strong desire to attend the Big Apple Circus. I would love to be the one to surprise them with tickets. Also, given that we are going through some tough financial times, and were looking for any way possible to make our dream of attending a reality. Please! I thank you in advance for giving us all this amazing chance to enter and have the hope of attending one of the greatest, most exciting events in my eyes.
