Aging gracefully: a conversation with my daughter
Jun 8, 2012 Kids
Scene: Our kitchen, Wednesday morning, everyone in various stages of getting ready.
Me: Hey Fiona, I’m speaking on a panel today. How do I look?
Fiona: Great! Except for here. [points under her eye]
Me: What, the mascara I put on my lower lashes? Too much?
Fiona: No, lower, under that. You made it too dark.
Me: Umm…I didn’t do that. Those are just the dark bags under my eyes from being tired and getting old. And having kids.
Fiona: Oh. Well then, you look good.
Me: Sigh.

So funny. I love the way Fiona thinks.
Classically funny! I’ve stopped asking mine. The truth is just too raw sometimes. LOL.
I’ll tweet this out you honest, brave star!
